Description

This is a gate and gate posts located about 30 metres south of Moat House, dating from the early 18th century. The gate is made of wrought iron and features a single leaf design. It is supported by wrought iron gate posts with stanchions. The gate includes a decorative dog rail and a central band of ornamentation, above which are four lyre-shaped motifs, along with additional scroll work over the gate. The gate was installed in its current position in 1984, having been removed from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear.
