Description
The stables and pig sty, now used as a store, were built around 1800 and have undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. They are constructed of painted brick with some timber-framing and feature tiled roofs. The building has two levels and two bays, with a dentilled eaves cornice. The main west elevation includes two round-headed windows and two doors with cambered heads, along with an attic light in the south gable end. Inside, there is a central timber-framed partition. The pig sty, which is attached to the south gable end, also has two levels and two bays. Its west elevation features a basket-headed archway with a small pointed opening to the upper left. The south gable end has a collar and tie-beam truss supported by two struts, a door with a cambered head, and a blocked hole in the gable apex that includes an alighting ledge. Additionally, there is an extension at the north gable end of the stable, which is a single bay with a stable door in the west elevation, diaper ventilation patterns, and a shuttered window with a cambered head at the north gable end. The stables and pig sty are prominently located beside Perry Mill and are included for their group value.
