Description
Manor House is a house dating from around 1670, with some early 17th century features and early 19th century alterations. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic. The west front, which is entirely from the 19th century, consists of two gabled bays. The windows are rebated and ovolo-moulded; on the ground floor, they are four-light windows with a transom, while the first and attic floors have three-light windows. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides, as well as between the gables. The south wall features a three-light 17th century mullioned attic window and a 19th century moulded doorway with a Tudor-arched head. This house is the remaining wing of an early 17th century structure that was burned by Royalist troops during the Civil War and was rebuilt around 1670. A large west wing was demolished in the early 19th century, which led to the re-facing of the west wall against which it had stood.
