Description

The Sedgeberrow War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was erected in 1919. It is situated on a rising bank opposite the churchyard gate of the church of St Mary the Virgin, which is a Grade II* listed building. The memorial features a Portland stone Calvary with a canopy, standing on a three-stepped square base and reaching approximately 5 meters in height.

The first step of the base has inscriptions that read: "IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919," listing ten names. The second step is incised with one name and includes the inscription: "PRAY FOR THEIR SOULS THAT THEY MAY REST IN PEACE. THIS CRUCIFIX IS ERECTED BY THE PARISHIONERS."
