Description
No. 57 Bridge Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a Welsh slate roof with two brick end stacks and a hipped tiled roof on the rear wing. The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a two-window range on the front facade.
Notable exterior features include a painted eaves cornice, sill bands, and a plinth. On the second floor, there is a 3/6 horned sash window on the left and two boxed horned plate glass sashes. To the right, on the first and ground floors, there is a two-storey canted bay window with 4/4:6/6:4/4 sashes, a cornice, a flat leaded roof, and a cellar grille below. On the first floor to the left, there is another 6/6 boxed sash window with a brick flat arch and a painted keystone. The ground floor to the left features a doorcase with a wooden architrave, pilasters, an enriched cornice, a three-pane overlight, a six-panel door, and a stone step. The rear elevation and right return display dentilled eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
