Description
This is a detached kitchen and pigsty built in the mid-19th century, located about one yard northwest of Pumphouse Farmhouse. The structure is made of brick and has a plain tiled roof with a tall brick ridge stack at the west end of the kitchen. It has a small rectangular plan that runs east to west, with the pigsty attached to the west gable end. The building is single storey and features a dentilled eaves cornice. The kitchen has a three-light casement window in the north elevation and an entrance in the east gable end, both of which have cambered heads. The north elevation of the pigsty has boarding over the openings to each sty. Inside, the kitchen retains its baking ovens and boiler. This building is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
