Outbuilding And Attached Pigsty Approximately 20 Metres To North West Of Oats Royd House

This building is an outbuilding and an attached pigsty, located approximately 20 metres to the north-west of Oats Royd House. It dates from the mid-19th century and is constructed of coursed squared stone with a Welsh slate roof, while the pigsty has flagstones. The pigeon-house is square in plan, one storey high with a loft, and has one bay. To the east, there is a single-storey, two-bay pigsty. The pigeon-house features a boarded door on the left within a plain stone surround, an arched bird hole with a ledge above to the right (which is bricked up), a central attic lunette, a stepped eaves band, and a pyramidal roof with an eaves stack on the right. The pigsty includes a plain stone surround doorway on the left, a lower opening on the right, and partly enclosed flagstone enclosures in front. On the left return, there is an oculus to the pigeon-house loft. This building is included for its group value.
