Description

The building is a pigsty and pigeon house, located approximately 45 metres northwest of Upper Foot Farmhouse. It is likely from the late 18th century, with a rear addition from the 18th century that was converted into a cottage in the early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed squared stone and rubble, topped with stone slate roofs.

The pigsty consists of a pair of single-storey sties with front yards, while the pigeon house is situated above and there is an added cell at the rear. The southeast front features yard walls made of rubble with flat coping. Each sty has quoins and a plain stone surround doorway, positioned inside a window that has a stone lintel and a projecting cill. To the right of the right-hand window, there is a slate ledge at lintel level with a blocked rectangular bird opening above it.

On the left side, the addition is set back and constructed of rubble with quoins. It has a blocked 18th-century window opening on the right, a 19th-century doorway and a two-light window to the left, and an 18th-century window opening with a later lintel above. A stack is located on the right at the junction with the sties, and there is a pent roof.

The right side features a chamfered quoined gable doorway leading to the pigeon house. The addition on the right has a bricked-up opening with tiestones on the left and a blocked three-light flat-faced mullion window above on the right. Inside the addition, there is a blocked doorway on the left of the rear wall of the pigsties, which has tiestones and a deep lintel.
