Description
This building is an outbuilding, currently used as a pigsty and store, located about 8 yards south-east of the dairy wing of Cummin's Farmhouse. It dates from the mid-18th century and was altered in the late 19th century. The structure is made of brick, some of which is hand-made, and has a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and features a dentilled eaves cornice. The building has two bays, with a gable end entrance facing the farmhouse that includes steps leading up to a ledged and battened door, which is situated above a dog kennel. The first floor has casement windows on the side elevations and in the opposing gable end. The ground floor was modified in the late 19th century to create three pigsties, which are accessed through three bullnosed edged, round-arched openings in the south-west elevation. This building is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
