Description
14 St George's Square is a house built around 1830-1840, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of brick with painted stucco dressings and features a two-span slate roof with a plain brick parapet at the front. The east end wall has a stack with an oversailing detail and pots.
The house is three storeys tall and has a cellar. On the first floor, there are two windows. The stucco detailing includes a Tuscan-style doorcase with incised pilasters and panelled reveals. The first-floor windows are 6/6 sashes, while the second-floor windows are 3/6 sashes, all set in plain reveals with sills and flat gauged brick arches. On the ground floor to the left, there is a canted timber bay with French windows. The entrance door is a single panel featuring incised Greek-key style decoration that matches the pilasters, with an overlight that has geometric pattern glazing bars and two roll-edged stone steps leading up to it. The interior has not been inspected.
