Description

This is a house, now used as an office, dating from around 1830, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The roof is concealed, and there are brick end stacks with decorative bands, projecting courses, and terracotta pots. The building follows a single-depth plan with a central hall.

The exterior has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. A central entrance has two roll-edged steps leading to a renewed four-panel door. The door has an original reeded frieze, a fanlight with radial glazing bars, renewed pilasters, and a pediment. Two 20th-century windows are set in wider openings, but retain the original gauged brick flat arches above them. The first floor has a central two-over-two sash window with a flat arch and sill between two outer oriel bays, each containing a one-over-one horned sash window. The second floor has two-over-two horned sash windows with sills.

The interior of the building was not inspected.

Numbers 4-8, 11, 12, 12A and 13 Pierpoint Street, along with numbers 4 and 6 Sansome Walk, form a group of buildings of group value.
