Description

19 Foregate Street is a former house dating from the mid-18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, topped with a plain tile roof. The rear left of the property features brick stacks with oversailing courses and decorative pots. The house is three storeys tall with an attic, presenting three windows to the first floor. The first-floor windows are 6/6 sash windows; the second-floor windows are 3/3 sashes. All windows are set in near-flush frames and have flat arches constructed of gauged brick, along with sills. A three-course band runs across the second floor. A low, coped parapet sits atop the building. A dormer window in the attic has a 3/3 sash. Access to the entrance, located on the right-hand side, is via a step, leading to a six-raised-and-fielded-panel door with a divided overlight, all contained within an eared architrave featuring a pulvinated frieze and pediment. To the left of the entrance is a wide plate-glass window within a fluted surround. The interior has not been inspected.
