Description

This building is a stable, now used as a store, located about 10 yards east of The Mount. It dates from the 17th century and features a timber-framed structure weatherboarded on a base of sandstone and brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. The stable has a single-bay plan oriented east to west and consists of two levels. The framing likely consists of large rectangular panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, with long straight braces in the lower corners, although the trusses are not visible. The entrance is located on the south elevation. The stable is situated in a prominent roadside position on the hill below The Mount and is included for its group value.
