Description
The North Stable at Manor Farm, located 25 meters to the north-northwest of the house, is a stable with a granary above, dating from the 17th century. It has been altered, with the ground floor partly rebuilt in brick during the 19th century. The structure features a timber frame with grooves for wattle-and-daub infill, but it is now weatherboarded on the exterior, with red brick on the ground floor on the west side and the southern half of the east side. The steeply pitched roof is now covered with corrugated iron. This two-storey, two-bay building faces east and backs onto the road. The northern half remains relatively unchanged, featuring a heavy floor structure and a timber-lined granary that is accessed by a ladder. The southern half has had its floor removed to create a lofty stable, but it retains an original three-light unglazed window with diamond mullions in the upper part of the west wall. The frame includes jowled posts, a clasped-purlin roof, and a central truss with collar and angle braces. The eastern front has two divided stable doors and the building abuts the southern stable.
