Description
The Old Ram and Hurdle is a house that was formerly a public house. It has a west wing dating from the 16th century and a main range from the late 17th century, which replaced an earlier open hall. The building features a timber frame with roughcast walls and a plain tile roof. There is a grouped roughcast chimney stack located at the center of the main range. The windows are 1:2 leaded casements, and there is a gabled porch added around 1970. The house has two storeys. Inside, the upper floor of the wing includes an arched braced truss and a clasped purlin roof. The main range features notched chamfer stopped to the bearer, and there is a late medieval cross passage that has been preserved.
