Farmhouse, now house. Cl7 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Timber- framed with brick and some rendered infill on brick and sandstone base; plain tiled roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan; hall part probably of two framed bays and cross-passage bay aligned east/west; large external chimney with offsets to rear of westernmost bay; intersecting cross-wing situated at west end is of two framed bays, also large external chimney with offsets at rear and another external chimney to rear side elevation; rear chimneys have sandstone base and incorporate some Cl7 brickwork. Two storeys and cellar. Framing;: three and four panels from sill to wall-plate and short straight braces in dome upper corners; collar and tie-beam trusses through- out with either three or four struts beneath collar and single strut in apex. South front elevation: windows are C19 casements; main part has a 3-light and a 2-light window on both floors and a C19 ledged and battened entrance door; small stack to right end of roof pitch. Cross-wing gable end has a ground and first floor 3-light casement. Interior not inspected. The ground falls away to the east end of the house where there is a door into the cellar. This gable end had recently been restored at time of survey (June 1985) and new windows inserted.
