Description
West Lodge is a lodge building dated 1818, constructed for J J Jones of Abberley Hall. It features a brick base with timber-framed upper sections that have plastered infill panels. The roof is plain tiled with overhanging eaves and central brick stacks, designed in a Tudor Gothic style and is irregular in plan. The building is a single storey with attics and consists of 2 bays. On the ground floor, there are 3- and 2-light casement windows. To the right, there is a large, bracketed gabled dormer that includes decorative panels and a 3-light casement window, with the date carved on the lintel. The entrance has a door located in an open porch to the right, which is covered by a lean-to roof. There is also a stair tower behind the porch topped with a pyramidal roof.
