Description
Elbatch Lodge is a lodge built around 1883, possibly designed by J P St Aubyn for J J Jones of Abberley Hall. The building is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with freestone dressings and has a plain tiled roof. It is designed in a Tudor Gothic style and has an irregular T-plan, consisting of two storeys. Each section features a single bay; the gable ends have a 1:3:1 light bay window with trefoil heads and transoms. On the first floor, there are three-light casement windows with ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds, and a single light window is located to the left of the porch. The porch projects in a re-entrant angle and includes an outer Caernarvon archway and an inner plank door. Each gable end displays square tablets with the Jones crest, and there is a projecting rubble stack with an in-built seat under a blind arch created by the flues on the left-hand gable.
