Description
North Lodge is a lodge dating from approximately 1881 to 1883, designed for J J Jones of Abberley Hall. The lodge is constructed of red brick with a timber-frame upper part, and has a plain tiled roof with overhanging eaves and a clustered brick stack. It is built in a Tudor style and has an irregular plan, featuring an octagonal tower to the north-west corner. The lodge is two storeys high, with a single bay to each part of the elevation. Windows are casements, with ovolo moulded brick surrounds and mullions on the ground floor, and timber mullions on the first floor. There is a corner window to the south-west. A segmental headed doorway is set within a lean-to porch located in a re-entrant angle. The octagonal tower has three windows, decorative panelling in the upper part, and a tall octagonal roof with a small window in a swept-out dormer.
