Description

Bank Farmhouse is likely 17th century, with later 19th and 20th century additions and alterations. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill, featuring a brick left gable and later extensions, and a tiled roof. Brick stacks are present. The original three-bay range has a 20th-century addition to the left, and 19th and 20th-century extensions at the rear. The entrance has been repositioned at the rear. The farmhouse has two storeys and a gable-lit attic. The windows are 20th-century metal casements, with three lights on each floor; the central ground-floor window may have replaced a former entrance. The timber framing has been altered and is irregular, with two panels from the sill to the mid-rail, and three panels from the mid-rail to the wall-plate, featuring short bracing from the mid-rail to the corner post. The right gable end displays irregular framing and a 20th-century softwood scissor brace within the gable.
