Description
The Heriots is a 17th-century house located on Cleveolde Lane in Guarlford. It features a combination of timber-framing and brick, topped with a tile roof. The house is one storey high with an attic. The south-west wall consists of two bays, each with casement windows. The left bay has a window positioned under the eaves, while the right bay includes a gabled attic dormer. There is a doorway on the right side next to a cross-wing, which has one window on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The principal posts of the structure are exposed, and the truss includes two collars with curved struts above the upper collar. A chimney is aligned with the doorway. The right-hand wall of the cross-wing, facing south-east, displays exposed framing in square panels and features two gables with attic windows. The rear of this wing also shows exposed framing. Additionally, there are two further wings attached to the rear wall, with the northern wing displaying an exposed truss in the gable.
