Description
The dovecote at Home Farmhouse, built in 1867 on older foundations, was designed by Norman Shaw. It is constructed of brick with limestone dressings and features a tiled conical roof. The dovecote has a circular plan and includes a doorway on the north side, which has a moulded stone surround and a canted head. Below the eaves, there is a 2-light stone mullioned window with a stone surround that extends above the eaves, showcasing five rows of pigeon holes with ledges. The structure is topped with a gable that has flanking pinnacles, carved with a 'B' for Beauchamp and a coronet. An iron finial and weather vane sit at the apex of the roof. Inside, there are nesting boxes with wooden ledges and remnants of a timber portence.
