Description

Guarlford Court is a house dating from probably the early and mid-19th century, incorporating elements from the 17th century. The construction combines brick and timber framing with a tile roof. It is two storeys high. The south-west facade features two parallel gabled wings on the right side. To the left is a range of three irregular bays, distinguished by a brick dentil course along the eaves and a doorway situated to the right of the first and third bays. Each wing consists of a single bay, both featuring sash windows with glazing bars. The left-hand wing has a two-storey bow with tripartite windows. Chimneys are positioned to the left of the first bay on the front wall, in line with the second bay, and on the return walls of the wings. The right-hand wall of the wing displays exposed timber framing with a mixture of close-studding and square panels. At the rear, a brick range runs parallel to the front range, extending southwest under a lower roof. This rear range has a gable with exposed framing in square panels and a truss featuring V-struts above the collar. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey in July 1986.
