Description

Old Piles is a 17th-century house located on Fullers Road in Aston Upthorpe. It is a large timber-framed building with rendered infill, although the cross wing to the right has painted brick. The roof is thatched, hipped to the left, with an older plain-tile roof to the cross wing. There is a brick lateral stack to the left and an end stack to the cross wing. The house is arranged in an L-shape and has a single storey with an attic. The front facade features a three-window range. A plank door is centrally positioned, sheltered by a plain-tile hood that is hipped to the left. There are two two-light leaded casements to the left of the door. A two-light leaded casement is positioned on the first floor to the left of the cross wing, with a single-light leaded casement on the first floor to the right of the cross wing. A swept dormer is located centrally. Timber framing is visible on the right return of the cross wing. The interior has not been inspected.
