Description
The Old House is a 17th-century house with alterations from the mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two framed bays that run east to west and includes a large external chimney made of sandstone rubble with tiled offsets, along with a detached brick stack at the east gable end. The house is a single storey with an attic.
The framing consists of three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, a long straight brace at the lower corner of the west gable end, and collar tie-beam trusses with struts and a V-strut in the apex. On the south elevation, there is a three-light casement window on the ground floor with plank weathering. The main entrance, located in the east gable end, features a ledged and battened door. There are also attic lights in the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there is a lean-to addition on the north elevation.
