Description
No 35 on Main Road is a house dating from around 1800. It is built of brick in Flemish bond and has a tile roof. The house is two storeys high and has four bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars, although the left-hand window on the ground floor has been replaced with 20th-century plate glass. The ground floor windows feature gauged brick heads. A 20th-century doorway has been inserted on the left side. The doorway in the second bay has a round head with a fanlight and is framed by a Tuscan pilaster doorcase with an open pediment. There is a brick dentil course at the eaves, and a chimney is located between the third and fourth bays. The left-hand return wall, which faces south, is curved and consists of two bays with sashed windows that also have glazing bars. Set back to the left is the south wall of a rear wing, which is also two bays wide.
