Description
The Ivy House and No. 1 Church Street is a house, now divided into two units, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped tile roof. The building has a symmetrical design with two storeys, an attic, and three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have segmental heads, while there are three hipped attic dormers. The front door has panelled reveals and a fanlight with Gothick glazing. At the time of the survey in July 1986, the pilaster doorcase was partly missing, and the house was partly obscured by vegetation. A chimney is located towards the left behind the ridge. The rear wing is timber-framed, has a box frame, and a tile roof with dentilled eaves. This wing, along with attached 19th-century cottages that are not included in the listing, has been separated from the main building to form a separate house.
