Description

No. 47 on High Street, also known as Midland Bank, is a late 18th-century building with five storeys and a six-window red brick facade featuring painted stone dressings. The windows are sashes set in narrow cased frames, with a central vertical glazing bar. The lowest storey is stuccoed and has a simple entrance flanked by Doric pilasters and an entablature. On either side of the entrance are semi-circular-headed windows, which have moulded architraves and keyblocks. The building is topped with a moulded stone cornice and a parapet.
