Description
32 and 33 Snow Hill are two houses that have been converted into shops, dating from the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed of painted brick with stone dressings and feature a concrete tile roof with brick stacks. The buildings rise three storeys and have a three-window range, with end pilasters and a top cornice adorned with modillions.
On the ground floor, there are paired early 20th-century shop fronts, with the left one altered. The left window has a rusticated wedge lintel with a fluted keystone above a moulded frame, although the sash is missing. The first floor features windows with rusticated wedge lintels and fluted keystones above 12-pane sashes with moulded frames, but the right window has been replaced with a plate-glass window. The second floor contains 6-pane horned sashes. The buildings have a cross-axial stack and an end stack.
The left side of the building has an entrance framed by an aedicule with panelled pilasters. Inside No. 32, there is a stick-baluster staircase and an ashlar fireplace. These houses are part of a surviving row from the 18th century.
