Description

The pavilion, built around 1881, is located to the north of the lake in West Park, Wolverhampton. It is a rectangular timber structure featuring a hipped slate roof with a tile crest. The design includes a canted projection topped with a pyramidal roof. The pavilion is supported by braced timber posts, with boarding on the sides and rear. The roof has an engrailed fascia and features a pyramidal roof over a low octagonal drum adorned with pierced trefoils and a pinnacle. At the time of the last survey in 1990, the seating was missing. West Park was designed by V.H. Vertegans between 1879 and 1881, on the site of the former Broad Meadows racecourse.
