Description
Leasowes is a house built in the 1850s, constructed from stuccoed brick with a slate roof and stucco stacks. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, featuring a three-window range with the gable facing to the right. The first floor includes a sill course, while the ground floor has two French windows and a large 12-pane sashed window set in a segmental-headed recess to the right. The first floor also has 12-pane sashes and a blocked round-headed window on the wing.
The left side of the entrance front features an entrance in a recess between two gabled wings, with an end stack to the right. There is a 12-pane tripartite sash window to the left and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor. The entrance is highlighted by a porch with antae adorned with lotus capitals, a heavy gable with relief ornament, and an architraved door with two tall round-headed panels. Inside, the house is noted for its stick-baluster staircase with a wreathed handrail and moulded cornices.
