Description

The Clock Tower, built in 1883, is a notable structure located in West Park, Wolverhampton. It is constructed from cast iron and stands on an ashlar plinth. The plinth features a battered design with a moulded base and cap. A cast-iron column and four slender colonettes support a square clock case that has four faces. The tower is topped with a cornice and an openwork corona. The structure underwent restoration between 1990 and 1991. West Park itself was designed by V.H. Vertegans between 1879 and 1881, on the site of the former Broad Meadows race course.
