Description
Top Cats Night Spot, formerly known as Pipe Hall Hotel, is a public house that later became a hotel and is now a night club. It dates from around 1810 and is constructed of stuccoed brick with ashlar dressings. The building features a parapeted roof and brick stacks, with a double-depth plan. It has two storeys and a four-window range. The gable is truncated with coped edges and there are parapeted returns with angle pilasters. The windows have rusticated wedge lintels above 12-pane sash windows, although the ground floor windows are boarded. The central first-floor windows are flanked by a niche with an open pediment, all set within an elliptical-headed recess. The entrance has a late 20th-century porch. The returns are similar in design. The interior has not been inspected but may still have interesting features.
