Description

A house, now an office, was built in the mid to late 18th century. It is located on the north west side of Mount Pleasant, Bilston, Wolverhampton. The house is constructed of brick with plaster and ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof. It follows a double-depth plan. The two-storey facade is two windows wide. The ground floor has channelled rustication and a cornice frieze with brick pilasters. Later 19th-century canted bays on the ground floor contain four-pane horned sash windows topped with modillioned cornices. The first and second floors have windows with shaped fielded-panelled lintels and enriched keystones, paired with 16-pane sashes in moulded frames. An entrance between the bays has pilasters and a dentil-detailed entablature featuring wreaths; it contains panelled reveals and a half-glazed inner door. Inside, a staircase features column-on-vase balusters, and an ashlar fireplace on the first floor is detailed with a fluted keystone and cornice.
