Description
No. 13 Queen Street is a shop built around 1860, designed in the Flemish Renaissance style. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a tiled roof. It stands three storeys high with an attic and has a single-window range. The shop front dates from the 20th century and includes a cornice and a Dutch gable with scrolled steps. The windows are adorned with leaded glazing, some of which includes stained glass. On the first floor, there is a canted oriel window that is tripartite in the centre, featuring mullions and a transom, topped by a central swan-necked pediment. The second floor has a projecting six-light window with a transom and cornice, with a decorative course that drops to the sides, ending in scrolls. The attic contains a two-light window with a swan-necked pediment, and the gable displays decorative tie bar ends. The interior has not been inspected.
