Description

The Church of Saint John the Baptist is a Grade I listed building located on Church Lane in Berkswell. It features a late 12th century chancel and a crypt with an octagonal antechapel. The nave is partly from the 12th century and partly altered in the 14th century. The south aisle dates from the 14th century, while the west tower and north aisle were built in the 15th century. The south porch, which has a chamber above, is from the 16th century and is timber framed with plaster infilling. Additionally, there is a 12th century south doorway. The church and the churchyard cross are recognized as a group.
