Description

The Bearwood War Memorial is a tall stone cross situated on a platform atop a plinth. The front face of the shaft is inscribed with "1914 / 1918". The platform has inscriptions on each side: the front reads "IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF / BEARWOOD WHO SACRIFICED / THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR"; the right side states "THEREFORE SHALL / THEY RECEIVE"; the back says "A GLORIOUS KINGDOM AND / A BEAUTIFUL CROWN"; and the left side features "THE LORD'S HAND / WISDOM V 16". Each face of the plinth lists the names of the Fallen. All inscriptions are partially eroded and difficult to read. The plinth is set on a two-step base.
