Description
Nos 4 and 6 Market Street, formerly listed as Market Hall, is a building dating from 1827, located on the west side of Market Street. It features a classical design with a stuccoed facade that rises three storeys high and includes three windows. The upper storeys are supported by four Roman Doric fluted columns, which hold up a moulded cornice and a parapet with inset balustrades. The centre has a segmental-headed arch. The sides of the building are returned and constructed of red brick, each side containing four windows with moulded lintels, a blocking course, and quoins at the front angle. The building has modern shop fronts throughout.
