Description

Poplar Cottage is a late 18th-century building located on Moor End Lane in Erdington. It is constructed of red brick and features a tile roof. The cottage has three storeys and is arranged in three bays. The ground floor includes a central door set within a modern gabled brick porch, along with a reset fanlight and two segment-headed three-light transomed windows. On the first floor, there is a central two-light window flanked by two three-light iron-framed windows, which are similar in style but do not have transoms. The cottage was doubled to the rear in a sympathetic manner during the mid-19th century. To the right, there is a cross wing added around 1900, which features applied timber framing in the gable.
