Description
This is a 16th and 17th century timber-framed house that was adapted into three tenements around 1800. One section was demolished to the west. The house has a brick facade dating from the 18th century, but the original timber frame remains visible as exposed wall posts. The roof is tiled and gabled, with two small dormers set into the wall plate. There are two modest shop windows from the early to mid-19th century, with the window to No. 25 retaining its original moulded frame. Plain doorways are present. The south gable end reveals a timber frame consisting of a ridge post supported by principals, a heavy tie beam, raked struts to the collar, back purlins, and jowled heads to posts, all held together with pegs.
