Description

Erdington Cottage Homes, built in 1898, was originally designed as the school for the Aston Union Cottage Homes. It serves to close the vista at the north end of the avenue. The building features a domestic design that is consistent with the cottages but on a larger scale. It has two-storey sandstone dressed canted bay windows under gables, flanking the center, which has narrow flush framed windows on both floors. There are detached wings with similar window styles, connected to the main block by set back single storey links, with the eastern link featuring a verandah entrance.
