Description
Abbey Hall is a two-storey brick house dating from around 1800. Originally, it had three bays, with the right-hand bay slightly recessed. In approximately 1840, it was extended by one matching bay on the right. The building features a plinth and a first-floor sill band, topped by a hipped slate roof with flat eaves. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with four panes by four panes and three panes by four panes above an off-centre doorway. Around 1840, stuccoed heads were added to the windows, featuring consoles that support cornices and blocking courses. The doorway is framed by engaged Ionic columns and has a section of entablature with a modillion cornice and a renewed pediment, along with a door that includes a fanlight. On the left side, there is a return of two bays with a brick bay window added to the ground floor around 1900, as well as later extensions to the rear.
