The Cottage is a mid to late 19th century lodge located on Somerset Road in Edgbaston, serving as a companion to No 25 Knutsford Lodge, with which it shares similar materials and style. The building is two storeys tall and has an L-shaped plan, featuring shaped gables on both wings. The gable facing the road includes a canted bay window on the ground floor, while the gable facing the drive has a canted bay window on the first floor. There is a porch situated in the angle of the two wings.
