Description
Knutsford Lodge is a mid-to-late 19th-century building constructed of red brick with stone dressings, featuring a polychrome facade and a shaped tiled roof. The design is in a Jacobean style. The main facade has three shaped gabled bays, with the central bay projecting and containing a porch. The porch has a four-centred arch with dragon motifs in the spandrels, and above it sits an oriel window topped with strapwork detailing. The bay to the left features mullioned casement windows at ground and first floor levels. The bay on the right is wider, with a prominent chimney breast. To the left of the central bay is a range with three ground-floor windows with mullions and transoms, and a first-floor quadripartite transomed window beneath a shaped gable. The return facade, facing the garden, has three bays with a two-story canted bay window, topped with strapwork and set within a shaped gable. An oriel window with a shaped tiled roof is positioned against a smaller shaped gable on this facade. A hexagonal iron lamp, set on a hexagonal stone base with trefoil detailing, stands in front of the garden front.
