Description
No. 38 Bennett's Hill is a building dating from around 1868 to 1870, designed by Yeoville Thomason. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys high with three bays, featuring quoins on the left and right that are vermiculated on the ground floor and even on the upper storeys. The building has an ornate palazzo front. The ground floor includes a door with a shell motif in the hood and two windows, all set within vermiculated surrounds and featuring bold keystones. There is a moulded cornice at the first floor level. The first floor has three arched windows in frames with cornices and blind balconies. The second floor features three segment-headed windows in eared frames, along with a diamond facetted frieze and bracketted moulded eaves cornice.
