Description

The bandstand, built in 1903 by the Lion Foundry Company of Kirkintilloch, is a Grade II listed structure. It is model number 23 from the foundry’s catalogue and features a late 19th-century design. The bandstand has an octagonal shape and is supported by a brick base with iron Corinthian columns. These columns hold up intricate ironwork that includes stars in the spandrels. The roof is ogee-domed and topped with a weathervane, while a timber soundboard is located below the dome.
