Description
Umbrello is a Grade II listed structure located in Handsworth Park, built in 1888 and presented by Austin B Lines. The building has an octagonal plan and is constructed of iron. It features slender, muted shafts in an Early English Gothic style that support scalloped arches, each of which carries a roundel with a shield that is flawed by tracery. Above and behind the arches, there is an openwork dome topped with a four-handled urn. Two of the shields display an inscription, while the others are adorned with a pelican. It is suggested that there may have been a fountain inside the structure at one time.
