Description
The Gatehouse Block at Bournville College of Further Education, originally known as The Gatehouse Block of The Day Continuation Schools, was built in 1925 by S. A. Wilmot. This building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features tiled hipped roofs. It has single-storeyed symmetrical wings on either side of a two-storeyed central section. The central section includes a semi-circular arched entrance with a keystone, which is flanked by paired battered buttresses and topped by a five-light mullioned window. The wings on either side are designed with canted bay windows. The facades facing The Green and Maple Road are more conventional and are not considered of special interest.
