Description

MAPLE ROAD 1. 5104 Bournville B30 Gatehouse block, Bournville College of further education (formerly listed an The Gatehouse block, The Day Continuation Schools). SP 0481 SE 56/3 21.1.70 II GV 2. Dates 1925, by S A Wilmot. Brick with stone dressings; tiled hipped roofs. Single-storeyed symmetrical wings either side of the 2-storeyed centrepiece. In this a semi-circular arched entrance with keystone flanked by paired battered buttresses and a 5-light mullioned window above. The wings either side have canted bay windows. The more conventional facades to The Green and Maple Road are not of special interest.
