Description
The walls and seating at the Green were built in the 1920s to 1930s. They are made from limestone and feature timber benches. Located at the intersection of Linden Road, Woodbrooke Road, and the Green, the roadway widens to create a curved area in front of the Quaker Meeting House and the public park.
The walls consist of low, curving sections of ashlar masonry, which are flanked by higher rectangular piers with chamfered angles. Decorative shaped corbels enhance the openings leading to the grounds of the meeting house and park. The two central sections of walling include benches that are supported by moulded stone brackets.
