Description

Bournville Infants' School, originally known as The Originals Schools, was built in 1910 and designed by W Alexander Harvey. The building is constructed of red brick with some timber-framing and plaster, and has a tiled roof. It is a low, irregular composition consisting of two long parallel blocks, one behind and linked asymmetrically to the other. The left block features tall Tudor-style chimneys and a cabled timber-frame and plaster bay. The front block is symmetrical, with tall windows and a taller window with hipped roofs breaking into the roofline. A central gabled timber-framed and plaster canted bay window is positioned within the rhythm a:b:a:a:c:a:a:b:a. Modern additions have been made to the rear of the building.
